- ➤ TRACS in Thompson Falls set a record by placing over 1,000 dogs in homes during 2025 as it celebrated 20 years of rescuing animals. The shelter will host an adoption event for its 130 current animals at PetSmart in Missoula on Saturday. KPAX

- ➤ This morning, Missoula Fire Department crews responded to a structure fire on Dixon Court near Southgate Mall and the Bitterroot Trail, quickly extinguishing the blaze. Newstalk KGVO

- ➤ A Missoula nonprofit was awarded $85M in New Markets Tax Credits & the credits will support upcoming local projects, following the financing model that built the Food Bank. Missoulian
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Representatives from the Missoula Paddleheads proposed installing artificial turf at Ogren Field, but local environmental groups held an open house Saturday to share concerns over microplastics and heat islands (which might harm the nearby Clark Fork River). GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Montana officials submitted a Major Disaster Declaration request to FEMA Public Assistance after severe flooding in Lincoln County last December caused nearly $10M in damage, with bridges washed out + roads closed. They expect the total damage to rise as further records including damage from a December windstorm are compiled. KPAX
- ➤ The Montana Department of Commerce announced that eight communities will share over $300,000 in grant funding to plan essential local development projects. The funds are set to pay for zoning code updates, preliminary planning reports & growth policies in areas including Fort Benton, Havre, and Missoula County. KPAX
