- ➤ Missoulian Ami Vitale (one of nine global Explorers at Large) has been named by National Geographic to spotlight conservation and community stories today; she will continue using her photography experience from 110 countries to boost awareness on wildlife and climate in Montana and beyond. KPAX

- ➤ GasBuddy reported that average Montana gasoline prices are $2.72 today while Missoula stations list near $2.69 — the national average is $2.88 amid supply constraints and refinery outages that may pressure prices further. Newstalk KGVO
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Flathead Avalanche Center warns that heavy snowfall and wind-drifted snow create dangerous avalanche conditions on slopes above 5,000 feet in mountain ranges near Glacier National Park until 6 a.m. today, and a second storm will extend the warning into Thursday morning. KPAX
- ➤ A recent poll shows Montana voters strongly support protecting public lands and oppose rolling back environmental rules, with most saying conservation matters when choosing officials. The 16th annual Conservation in the West poll was conducted from Jan. 2 to Jan. 18 — a view shared by many in our region. KPAX

- ➤ The Missoula Redevelopment Agency Board approved up to $400,000 for the West Broadway River Corridor project to boost river access, recreation, and fish passage at a local island. The design will reach 30% soon and, if additional funds are secured, engineering will start and aim for full design by next summer. Missoula Current
