ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Missoula firefighters fought a big fire early Wednesday morning at the empty HuHot restaurant on South Brooks Street and worked until nearly 3 p.m.—the building was a total loss with no reported injuries while a joint investigation continues.  Missoula Current

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Senate Fish and Game Committee met for three hours to debate two wolf bills by Rep. Paul Fielder. One bill would extend the wolf hunting season by three months and the other would allow thermal imaging for hunting—opponents warned that a spring hunt could risk wolf pups.  Missoula Current

HEALTH NEWS

  • Tribal health officials warned that proposed federal Medicaid cuts will reduce vital services for Native American patients at clinics in Montana and elsewhere. They plan to push for exemptions from the cuts—since many centers rely on Medicaid for 30—60% of their operating budgets—to prevent a loss of necessary care.  Missoula Current
