- ➤ Missoula Animal Services has launched a fundraising campaign today to raise $1 million for a $3.5 million project to expand and remodel its shelter. The agency—recently renamed from Missoula Animal Control—houses over 1,100 pets a year and will use public funding, grants and donations to reach its goal. KPAX

- ➤ Six people illegally in the U.S. were arrested when Border Patrol agents assisted local law enforcement during a Kalispell traffic stop—three men from Honduras, two from Mexico, and one from Guatemala—who were processed for removal. KPAX

- ➤ The Montana House approved a $16.6 billion state budget on Wednesday to fund government functions through 2026 and 2027—legislators worked for months to achieve a 6% increase that boosts health, education and public safety programs statewide. - ➤ Missoula Parks and Recreation reported unverified reports of dogs being poisoned on a section of the Rattlesnake Greenway Trail between Mountain View and Duncan Drive — an area near the PEAS Farm — and said the city does not use poison for pest control while Missoula Animal Control has not received any reports. - ➤ A Montana Legislature bill that would bar state officials from setting air quality standards stricter than the Clean Air Act advanced from the Senate Natural Resources Committee to the Senate floor.
