COMMUNITY NEWS

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Missoula attorneys and officials filed confidential complaints against Judge John Larson, saying his rulings in youth cases appear highly unusual and may violate legal standards. • On April 10, the Montana Senate advanced House Bill 413 to tighten residency rules so that people who live temporarily for work, training, or school must prove they plan to stay permanently in the county. Supporters say the change will secure local votes—while opponents worry it will block student voters.  Missoula Current

HEALTH NEWS

  • A Montana hunter found an unusual tick on her dog during a hunting trip and sent it to a lab that later identified it as the first deer tick in the state. The tick was discovered near the dog’s collar and experts warn it can carry Lyme disease if it feeds for 24 hours.  KPAX
  • Montana PBS’ Anna Rau investigated if insurance companies follow rules that require equal coverage for mental and physical health care, reporting that patients like Yvonne Field faced limits on eating disorder treatment.
