BUSINESS NEWS

  • George Clooney’s new non alcoholic beer Crazy Mountain is now available at local retailers and may soon appear at Town Pump (local distributors helped bring it to market) as it channels Montana style even though it’s brewed in Colorado.  Newstalk KGVO
  • Missoula welcomes a new Warhammer store opening in May at 3055 N. Reserve St, Suite A2. The store will offer hands-on miniature building + painting sessions and is hiring on-call operators for creative opportunities.  Newstalk KGVO

CULTURE NEWS

  • Missoula hosts the 49th International Wildlife Film Festival starting today through April 23, which features wildlife films and art exhibits at the Roxy Theater gallery. Families can join a morning Clark Fork River cleanup, followed by the Wild Walk parade at Caras Park at 11:30 a.m. and other lively events downtown.  Newstalk KGVO

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Triple A reported that on Thursday Montana's average regular gas price dropped to $3.89 a gallon, though drivers in some counties may pay over $4 + the change is minimal for most stations.  Newstalk KGVO

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The University of Montana hosted the 37th annual John Ruffatto Startup Challenge at Gallagher Business Building where 14 finalists from over 100 submissions presented their business ideas and one finalist is set to earn $50,000. Finalists praised the event for offering valuable networking and mentoring opportunities.  MontanaRightNow
  • MCPS students partnered with Ripple on a field trip to study local watersheds — part of a decade-long program funded by the Natural Resource Damage Program. Fifth graders from Rattlesnake Elementary and peers from schools across the region examined invertebrates at Milltown State Park on April 17.  KPAX

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Climate Smart Missoula is pairing renewable energy efforts with community well-being in our city through its involvement in UM’s Democracy Summit session & upcoming Ambassador Training on April 28, which highlights clean energy & affordable living.   • The CSKT Bison Range welcomed its first bison calf of the season in Moiese this week, marking an annual milestone for the herd and a continued effort to restore bison to the range.  KPAX

  • After the Senate overturned a 20 year mining ban near the Boundary Waters using the Congressional Review Act, mine explorations are planned in Montana at the headwaters of the Blackfoot River and on federal land near the Bitterroot River + regulators say potential impacts on land protections will be reviewed.  Missoula Current
