- ➤ Montana Forest Consultants planned a prescribed burn near Big Flat Road and Saddleback Lane on Monday, Apr. 20 to restore forest resistance to fire — crews burned 70 acres as part of a 250-acre project that produced noticeable smoke and slowed traffic without closing roads or allowing public access. - ➤ City leaders approved an expansion of the Scott Street Urban Renewal District for a 93-acre site on Missoula’s north side, making tax increment financing available for roadways, water lines, and sewer connections; master planning will finish in September and could lead to phased housing development.
