Fourth graders from St. Joseph School in Missoula raised more than $900 for the Carousel in Downtown Missoula during a classroom project that became a community effort.

They presented their funds on Friday—adding to a history of community outreach—and ended the field trip with a ride on the Carousel.

Collectors gathered for the state’s largest collectibles expo in Missoula where expensive cards and high bids drew eager traders — 406 Draft Cards and Collectibles owner Scott Jablonski said he used the event to share business skills with his son for his future college tuition.

University of Montana students volunteered on May 3 to spruce up the M Trailhead and the ethnobotany garden — efforts made after the school was named top for community service that brought campus groups together to improve local spaces.

Missoula's Sean Ramsbacher won the amateur division with a 9-under score — Billings' Garrett Woodin clinched the pro title with a 13-under score and a $3,500 prize at the two-day Lake City Open held at Polson Bay Golf Course.

Ramsbacher, a former Montana Tech player, led a field of 126 amateurs — Woodin edged a key rival by one stroke.
