- ➤ AAA Montana reports that regular gas in Missoula costs about $4.58 a gallon this morning, with some counties paying a bit more while state trends stay steady. Premium gas is at $5.21 and diesel runs at $5.48. Newstalk KGVO

- ➤ The U.S. Forest Service + University of Montana launched a historic co-branding project featuring Smokey Bear and apparel that spotlights UM’s Fire Sciences program. - ➤ In April, Missoula held its second annual Zero Waste Action Month and reached a milestone by diverting 31% of waste from landfills, exceeding its 2025 goal. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Montana Backcountry Hunters & Anglers and Public Land Waters Access Association have sued the state wildlife agency, asking a court to rule that its corner crossing memo is illegal. The groups argue the agency’s interpretation should not be enforced. Missoulian
- ➤ Missoula’s Downtown Safety, Access, and Mobility project will reshape streets based on community input (18 members) who helped plan to convert roads to two-way, add bike lanes, and preserve trees. The city will finalize the plan later this year and expects construction to begin early to mid 2027. KPAX
- ➤ Volunteers at the East Missoula Rural Fire Department celebrated a $222,000 levy that raises the budget to $300,000 (supporting updates to trucks and the building) as call volume grew by 60%. Assistant Chief JD Sessions said the vote keeps the department operating for the community. KPAX

- ➤ Krambu submitted an application yesterday to transform Bonner’s old mill site into a data center that will use 29 megawatts of power and a closed-loop water cooling system — the planning board will decide on the project July 1 despite community opposition with over 4,000 petition signatures.
