- ➤ Providence St. Patrick Hospital announced it will close its Family Maternity Center on October 10 as it partners with local clinics for smooth care—Missoula’s New Hope Hospice Center opened Tuesday and plans to welcome patients this summer. Kalispell’s Samaritan House will break ground on July 1 on its first phase of an affordable housing project with 18 apartments and $8.3 million secured toward a $17 million goal. KPAX

- ➤ An international board released a plan to study coal-mine water pollution in Lake Koocanusa and the Kootenai River.
