- ➤ Missoula’s Western Montana Fair will run from August 5 to 10 with horse activities scheduled every hour at Clouse Bauer Arena and a new community stage for live music. - ➤ On May 21, 2025, a Missoula County Sheriff’s corporal stopped a silver Nissan on Highway 12 after noticing a headlight out and erratic driving, and following field sobriety tests that showed watery eyes and slurred speech, a search revealed methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia — Hatfield now faces felony charges for criminal possession of dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia — as part of a DUI investigation. - ➤ State officials and marijuana providers met in Helena on June 4 to address delays in pesticide testing that now take 7 to 10 days due to stricter standards. - ➤ The East Missoula Fire Department Board will put a levy on the ballot for the upcoming November election — they are still finalizing the proposal details — to fund emergency services. MontanaRightNow
- ➤ Missoula City Council approved funding for two river restoration projects — one on the Clark Fork River to fix erosion and update trail access, and one on the Bitterroot River to repair damage from old mining. Work on the Clark Fork project will start late August and finish by January 1 while the Bitterroot work will begin late June and end by next March. KPAX

- ➤ Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula announced earlier this week it will close its labor and delivery department effective October 10—without consulting Western Montana Clinic, which learned of the decision hours before the public announcement. Clinic president Dr. Dirk Gottman said the clinic will work with the hospital and Community Medical Center to smoothly transition care for expectant mothers. KPAX
