- ➤ After Saturday night's thunderstorms, firefighters confirmed 10 new lightning-caused fires in Bitterroot National Forest, with five under control and over 500 lightning strikes recorded across the area. Crews from Lolo and Bitterroot worked at multiple sites (ranging from 0.1 to 4.5 acres) to improve fire-lines and mop up the blazes. KPAX
