- ➤ On August 3, a Montana Highway Patrol trooper stopped 65-year-old Lawrence Kiner on Demer Street after he nearly drove into oncoming traffic; Kiner (whose ninth DUI had already revoked his license from a 2019 offense) fought the officer and tried to flee before being arrested and charged with felony DUI, resisting arrest, driving with a suspended or revoked license, and driving without an interlock device (with a $100,000 bond set). - ➤ The Office of Disciplinary Counsel filed two complaints against former staff attorney Scotti Ramberg for alleged misconduct—accusing her of filing illegal liens and taking possession of a house without permission that led to a misdemeanor theft conviction—and she has not commented while a hearing could lead to penalties up to disbarment. - ➤ On Monday, Missoula City Council and Mayor Andrea Davis offered condolences to Anaconda after a shooting at the Owl Bar claimed four lives—police and firefighters provided support while tracking the armed suspect who remains at large. KPAX
- ➤ Missoula city officials reported that new property assessments came in lower than expected but will not greatly impact the proposed FY26 budget.
