- ➤ On August 22nd, a Missoula County Sheriff’s Office corporal stopped a black GMC Acadia along Expressway and found drugs when he observed a missing headlight and front bumper—Tyler Huetter admitted to having marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms and he is now charged with felony possession of dangerous drugs and a no insurance offense. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Friday, the Alliance for the Wild Rockies filed a lawsuit in federal court to stop logging near bull trout spawning streams in the Lolo National Forest—saying that planned haul roads and log hauling under the Redd Bull 2 project will further harm fish habitat and violate the Endangered Species Act. - ➤ Volunteers in Missoula mapped local heat islands yesterday by using sensor-equipped cars to gather temperature and humidity data across several neighborhoods, a project led by County Climate Action and Climate Smart Missoula (aiming to guide tree planting and cooling centers). - ➤ Public Service Commissioner Fielder has called on Governor Gianforte to suspend PSC President Molnar—accused of blocking an internal investigation into misconduct. - ➤ Riverside Contracting and WGM Group are asking to extend the Phase 1 submittal deadline by three years while planning a public water and wastewater system to match the Wye Infrastructure Plan.
