- ➤ On August 29, residents of Eagle Watch Estates and Bruce Blattner Apartments complained about broken fixtures, bed bugs, water heating issues and a missing caretaker as they called for better communication with their Minnesota-based property management. - ➤ Firefighters have made significant progress on the Corral Creek fire that started on August 20 from a lightning strike and spread over 350 acres, reaching about 85 percent containment. - ➤ The USDA announced it is moving to roll back the 2001 Roadless Rule that once protected nearly 60 million acres of national forest land, including 6.4 million acres in Montana, and will open a 21-day public comment period through Sept. 19 to guide local forest management — a change that has drawn praise from local officials and criticism from conservation groups.
