ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ American Prairie acquired Anchor Ranch, which covers 67,960 acres and reopens a 3.8-mile stretch of Bullwhacker Road to public access, giving outdoor enthusiasts nearly 50,000 acres that were long closed. The purchase, their second-largest, will maintain grazing leases and support habitats—like those for elk, deer and pronghorn—in Montana. Newstalk KGVO

- ➤ The Montana Auditor's office blocked $21.6 million in proposed insurance rate hikes by reviewing 3,551 filings from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025 — protecting over 77,314 policyholders, state auditor James Brown said. Newstalk KGVO
- ➤ The Montana Department of Revenue reminded taxpayers to file for the property tax rebate by Oct. 1 to claim up to $400 for tax year 2024—over 197,000 applications have been received and 97% have been approved.
