- ➤ Missoula’s Watershed Navigation Center opened this year to reduce homelessness and crime by connecting people with housing and essential support—officials say the program also aims to ease jail crowding as more locals seek help. Missoulian
- ➤ The Historical Museum at Fort Missoula will host its annual Fall Harvest Festival on October 5 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will offer apple pressing demonstrations, cabin tours, sawmill shows and fall crafts. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Missoula Infrastructure Coalition endorses a proposed $1.8 million levy on the November ballot which will add about $2 a month to homeowners' taxes if passed so the county can boost funds for repairing roads and bridges. - ➤ Bozeman enacted its strict urban camping ban on Oct. 1—fining violators up to $500 and imposing jail time, while Missoula uses lighter rules that fine camping in public parks at $50 and require tents to be taken down during the day.
