The University of Montana’s Physical Therapy Department hosted the Pack the M Pink hike in Missoula to raise funds so its students can provide free physical therapy at the Susan G.

Komen Race for the Cure in California — the event brought together local survivors and other participants who shared their stories to stress the importance of early checkups.

Debbie Madonna, a Missoula woman with stage four breast cancer, is getting help from the Cancer Support Community of Montana—which offers group activities, professional therapy, and free wigs—to stay strong with support from her husband and friends.

She now connects with others facing cancer who understand her journey.
