ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Conservation groups argued in court Wednesday that a logging project in the Garnet Mountain Range will hurt lynx and grizzly bear habitats—claims that the plan ignores wildlife needs by increasing road density and reducing trees. Federal officials maintained the project meets safety and environmental rules, and a final decision is still pending.  Missoula Current
  • Preliminary floodplain maps for the Clark Fork River, Bitterroot River and Rock Creek are now available in Missoula County showing updated flood risk data that replace maps from the 1970s.
