Calling all history enthusiasts! 4HistoryBuffs is held on the last Tuesday of each month from 6-8pm. Join guest speakers for lively and entertaining presentations of historical interest. October 27 Shaping Boundaries: Our History in Maps Speaker: Bruce Mihelish. Many European countries laid claim to these lands. Indigenous people felt differently. Learn how the fourthlargest state was shaped between 1500 and 1950. November 24 Missoula Valley Before Statehood Speaker: Sally Thompson. In 1876, Chief Charlo gave a speech that challenged newcomers to the Five Valleys region and still carries weight today. Drawing on his framing of history, this illustrated presentation will invite you to reconsider your own perception of the early decades of Missoula County.
